Gophers Ink Minnesota Native Alison Eggers

University of Minnesota women’s swimming and diving co-head coaches Kelly Kremer and Terry Nieszner have announced that Rosemount, Minn., native Alison Eggers has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Golden Gopher program in the fall of 2007.

In her senior season, Eggers finished ninth in the 50 free at the Minnesota State High School State Championships last week. Eggers also placed 12th in the 100 free. Coached by Jim Ertl, Eggers is the team captain for Rosemount High School in her final season.

“Alison is very athletic,” Kremer and Nieszner said. “She is relatively new to the sport of swimming, but she has the athletic ability to adapt and make changes quickly in the water. We are very excited about the person and student that Alison is, and we are equally excited about the swimmer that Alison is developing into. We look forward to helping her continue this development with the Golden Gophers, and we are proud to have another Minnesota student athlete wanting to stay at close to home and represent her State’s flagship school.”
