University of Minnesota women’s swimming and diving recruits Jillian Tyler, Molly Belk, Alison Eggers, Meagan Radecke and Courtney Veerman, all of which signed National Letters of Intent to compete at Minnesota, were successful in their respective events last week.

Belk, Eggers and Radecke all competed in the Minnesota State High School Championships last week at the University Aquatic Center. Belk, from Minneapolis, was the state champion in the 200-yard freestyle event and also finished second in the 100 fly. Radecke, a Stillwater, Minn., native, placed fourth overall in both the 50 and 100 free events, while Eggers (Rosemount, Minn.) finished ninth in the 50 free and 12th in the 100 breast.
Veerman, from Verona, Wis., won the Wisconsin Division I state championship in both the 200 and 500 freestyle events. Not only did Veerman win the 500 free, she set a state record as she shattered the old record by five seconds.
