The University of Minnesota women’s swimming and diving team claimed three Big Ten Conference Weekly Awards Tuesday, the league office announced. Jessica Plant earned Co-Swimmer of the Week honors, Maggie Keefer was named Diver of the Week and Kierra Smith was tabbed Freshman of the Week.
Jessica Plant earned her first-career Swimmer of the Week honor after producing three first-place finishes against Iowa State in the 100 back (56.73), 200 back (2:01.71) and 400 free relay (3:28.30). All three times set new meet records and her 56.73 in the 100 back was a career-best for the sophomore. Wisconsin’s Ivy Martin shared the Big Ten honor.
