After coming off a huge Big Ten Conference season opening win over the University of Michigan on Friday, Oct. 11, Minnesota’s Sarah McCrady received weekly honors as announced on Tuesday Oct. 15. The senior from Eagan, Minn. was named Diver of the Week after the Gopher’s second dual meet of the year.
McCrady won the three-meter dive event in the competition to help assist the women’s swimming and diving team to go on and defeat the Wolverines with a score of 174.5-125.5. Her score of 336.15 was an earned career-high score and also guaranteed her first diving event victory of the season. In the Michigan dual, McCrady also received fourth place in the one-meter dive event with a score of 273.60. Both scores qualified her for NCAA Zone Diving standards.
This is the third time in McCrady’s career as a Golden Gopher that she has been awarded with Diver of the Week honors.
This is the second week in a row that Minnesota has had recipients in Big Ten Conference weekly honors. Last week Maggie Keefer won Diver of the Week and Breanne Siwicki was named Freshman of the Week.
The Golden Gophers travel to Madison, Wisc. this weekend to battle the University of Wisconsin Badgers on Oct. 18 at 6:00 p.m. and on Oct. 19 at 11:00 a.m. CT
