The University of Minnesota women's swim team had good representation at the Speedo Champion Series at the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center in Brown Deer, Wis. The Gophers were members of the Minnesota Aquatics, which won the Series with 520.5 points. Minnesota's 400 medley relay of Andrea Hanson, Molly Belk, Danielle Ridder and Alison Eggers combined for a winning time of 4:21.82.

Belk competed in four individual events for the Gophers. She finished 14th in the 200 breast, ninth in the 100 breast, the 200 individual medley and the 100 fly. Megan Braun also competed and placed in the championship final twice during the Speedo series. In the 100 freestyle, Braun finished fourth overall (58.53) and sixth in the 200 free (2:07.49). Eggers also competed in the 100 free championship final and finished eighth overall in 59.19.

Amy Funk competed in the 800 freestyle and touched the wall in 9:14.97, good enough for eighth overall. She also finished 17th in the 200 free in 2:08.84. Hanson finished 15th overall and seventh in the B Final in a time of 1:11.22. Hanson qualified for the A Final in both the backstrokes in the 100 and 200 backs. She placed was the runner up in the 200 back (2:19.74) and sixth in the 100 back (1:05.43).

Minnesota's next event will be the U.S. Open, hosted by the U of M's own Aquatic Center, July 29-Aug. 2.
