Hehn Finishes Fourth in the 200 Breaststroke at Olympic Trials

Former Gopher Keri Hehn competed in the 200 breaststroke final tonight, at the United States Olympic Swimming Trials, in Omaha, Neb. The event continues through Sunday. Hehn clocked a time of 2:26.89, but Rebecca Soni won the event in 2:22.60, while Amanda Beard finished second (2:25.13) and Caitlin Leverenz followed in third.

In preliminary action, freestyler Christine Jennings competed in the 800 freestyle. She clocked a time of 8:48.90, which placed her 24th out of 55 competitors. Incoming freshman Ashley Steenvoorden held a time of 9:03.49 to finish 51st, respectively. Former Gopher Katie Wind led Minnesota in the 200 back. Wind touched the wall in 2:16.38 and tied for 45th overall. Roxane Akradi placed 53rd overall in 2:16.86, while Castina Wabeke held a time of 2:19.70 for 86th overall.
