Junior diver Kelci Bryant and diving coach Wenbo Chen will be heading to the Summer World University Games this summer. USA Diving finalized its roster for the event, which will take place August 11-23 in Shenzhen, China.

Bryant, a two-time NCAA champion, is one of 12 divers on the roster. She will compete on both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards. This will not be Bryant’s first time diving in China, as she competed in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, and she is scheduled to participate in the FINA World Championships in Shanghai in July.

Chen has a wealth of experience coaching for national and international competitions. His resume includes serving as a coach for the Chinese national team (1983-91) and for the U.S. at the 2006 FINA World Cup, 2007 World Championships and Pan Am Games, and 2008 Olympic Games. From 2005 to 2009, Chen was the head of the USA Diving program.

Out of the 12 divers on the World University Games squad, half are from Big Ten schools. Two of the three coaches also hail from the conference.
