Why did you decide to swim for Minnesota?
When I stepped onto the campus it felt like home. Though I have grown up in Minnesota and have swam at the University of Minnesota's pool many times, I never felt the feeling of home until I visited and got to meet the team and coaches and got to see the academic side of the campus. The team felt like a family and it felt like there was something special there that I wanted to be a part of. The coaching staff is amazing, they truly care about their swimmers and want to help them succeed. When I got to see the academic side of the campus I realized just how beautiful Minnesota's campus is. Minnesota also has a great business school and medical school, which are two fields I would love to study. The school offers so much and I saw an opportunity to grow as a swimmer, a student, and a person.
What are you looking forward to the most with starting your Golden Gopher collegiate career?
I am so excited to be a Golden Gopher and to be a part of the swim and dive team. I am looking forward to spending more time with the team and to be a part of something so unique and special. I am honored to represent the University of Minnesota. I am also looking forward to working with my coaches and developing into the best swimmer I can possibly be.
Thus far, what has been your best or most proud swimming memory?
My most proud swimming memory was when I got my NCSA cut. My prelims time was a second off the cut and even though I really wanted to achieve my goal, I wasn't sure I was going to get it. But when I finished my race at finals I looked up at the scoreboard to see that I had dropped two seconds off my prelims time and I got my cut. I was shocked, happy and excited all at the same time and when I got out my teammates rejoiced with me, which made the moment even more special.
What do you like to do for fun besides swimming?
I enjoy spending time with my friends, family and of course my dog, Ruby. I like to read a good book or just relax and watch a good movie. I love to be active, whether it's riding my bike, running, attending a yoga class, or walking my dog. I have also been a diver for many years and always enjoy when I get the opportunity to get on the board and dive again.
How do you think you will contribute to the Gopher swimming and diving program?
I have a positive attitude and I like to support my teammates. I also like to have fun and make people smile, so I will bring enthusiasm and motivation to the team.
