Minnesota freshman Maggie Keefer will join junior Kelci Bryant as Golden Gopher divers set to compete in the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships next week in Austin, Texas. Keefer earned one of the at-large berths from Zone D, which will send a total of 11 divers into the NCAA field.
Keefer’s top finish at this weekend’s NCAA Zone D Meet was a fifth-place showing in the 3-meter springboard competition. She advanced to the Zone finals in all three diving events. Keefer scored 629.70 in the 3-meter, placed ninth on the 1-meter board (548.25) and 11th in platform (452.55) diving.
Freshman Sarah McCrady was the Gophers’ top platform finisher on Sunday, placing eighth with a score of 494.35 points. Katie Grunawalt scored 224.00 in prelims.
