The University Aquatic Center will host some of the best collegiate divers in the nation next week when Minnesota hosts the NCAA Zone D diving championships.
Approximately 90 divers from as many as 27 schools will take part in the three-day event that will qualify nine women and seven men into their respective NCAA championship meets.
All three days of competitive diving this week are open to the public and are free to attend. The championships will run Monday, March 10 through Wednesday, March 12.
The schedule is as follows:
Minnesota will have nine divers—five women and four men—in the competition. Representing the men’s team is Matt Barnard ( 1M | 3M | PL ), Manny Pollard ( 1M | 3M | PL ), Dylan Zoe ( 1M | 3M | PL) and Nicholas Rodriguez ( 1M | 3M ). The three female Gophers vying for a spot at the NCAA Championships are Maggie Keefer ( 1M | 3M | PL ), Jessica Ramberg ( 1M | 3M | PL ) and Lexi Tenenbaum ( 1M | 3M | PL ), Sarah McCrady (1M | 3M | PL), and Katy Etterman (1M | 3M | PL).
In addition to Minnesota, schools in Zone D who may have divers competing include: Arkansas-Fayetteville, Arkansas - Little Rock, Centenary College (Louisiana), Houston, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, LSU, Minnesota, Missouri State, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, North Texas, Northern Iowa, Rice, Saint Louis U, South Dakota, South Dakota State, Southern Methodist, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Tulane, UW Green Bay, UW Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
