Minnesota and Iowa combined to break four meet records as the Golden Gopher women's swimming and diving team defeated the Hawkeyes, 186-112, Saturday at the University Aquatic Center.

Minnesota's 200-yard medley relay team of seniors Emily Deppe, Kim Harrod, Katy Christoferson and Meaghan Sonstegard placed first in a time of 1 minute, 46.82 seconds, breaking the previous record of 1:47.40. Freshman Megan Moore won the 200 backstroke in a time of 2:03.59, improving from the previous meet record of 2:03.67.

Iowa's Allison Lyle set meet records in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.76) and the 200 backstroke (2:03.59).

The Golden Gophers won 11 of the 16 events, including both relays.

Christoferson won four events. In addition to her win as the third leg of the 200 medley relay, she also won the 50 freestyle (24.27), 100 butterfly (56.49) and the 200 individual medley (2:06.80).

Sophomore Dana Baum won two individual events, the 200 freestyle (1:51.67) and the 500 freestyle (4:58.90). She also was the lead leg of the winning 400 freestyle relay.

Deppe won the 100 backstroke (57.79) in addition to leading off the winning 200 medley relay. Sonstegard was the anchor leg of both winning relay teams.

Senior Tracy LaVoi won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events.
