The Minnesota women's swimming and diving team continued to receive Big Ten Weekly honors Tuesday afternoon as junior Haley Spencer was named the Co-Big Ten Women's Swimmer of the Week and Tori Simenec garnered her second Big Ten Freshman of the Week accolade.

Spencer shared Swimmer of the Week honors with Michigan's Alexa Mehesan.

The duo helped the No. 23-ranked Golden Gophers upset No. 10 Missouri Saturday at the Mizzou Aquatics Center.

Spencer placed first with NCAA provisional qualifying times in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.71) and the 200 breaststroke (2:16.03), in which she broke her own meet record, and also won the 200 individual medley (2:03.86). Spencer then posted another NCAA provisional qualifying time with a second-place finish as a member of the 200 medley relay team with a time of 1:42.87.

Also a member of the second-place 200 medley relay team, Simenec claimed titles in the 200 butterfly by matching the meet record in 2:02.43, and as a member of the 400 freestyle relay team. As a member of the squad, Simenec notched her second NCAA provisional qualifying time of the event with a time of 3:24.16. The rookie also garnered a second-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly, clocking in at 55.19.

The Gophers finally return to the University Aquatic Center to host the Big Ten Quad Duals vs. Purdue, Illinois and Wisconsin Jan. 27-28.
