theMinnesota divers Rachel Degener and Tracy LaVoi placed fifth and eighth, respectively, Thursday in the 1-meter finals of the All-American Diving Invitational, in Austin, Texas.

Degener moved from sixth to fifth in the final round, scoring 398.10 points. LaVoi maintained her eight-place position from the semifinals with a score of 356.05 points. Jamie Watkins of Louisiana State won the event with a score of 425.85 points.

The Minnesota women's swimming and diving team is ranked 13th in the latest national poll, released by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.
