The University of Minnesota women's swimming and diving team took part in Michigan's first-ever Water Carnival Saturday at Canham Natatorium.
The meet featured the men's and women's teams from Minnesota and Michigan as well as the men's team from Oakland, participating in 13 events (listed below) including swimming, diving and water polo. Other activities at the Natatorium included appearances by the U-M Dance Team, U-M Band and the Friars a-capella group.

The meet was scored like a collegiate tri-meet but there was no team scoring.
The Gophers owned many of the relays, earning first place in the 250 medley, 300 medley, 400 free and 500 free relay.
The Gophers will host Iowa State next at the University Aquatic Center Friday, Oct. 12 beginning at 5:00pm.
