Minnesota sits in 10th place with 99 points following Friday night's events
2012-13 • Freshman Season:Named Big Ten Freshman of the Week (10/9) • notched first place honors in the 50 free and the 200 medley relay, along with finishing in second in the 100 fly and 200 free relay at Kansas (10/20)• won the 200 free and tied for second in the 100 fly against Iowa State (10/12) •placed first in the 100 free and as a member of the 400 free relay, second in the 50 free and third with the 200 medley relay team at Michigan (10/5).
High School: Was a member of the Rockwood Swim Club coached by Mary Liston • made the US Olympic trial cuts in both the 100 and 200 freestyle events • also made the USA Swimming Senior National cuts in five events, including the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle, and the 100 and 200 butterfly • placed ninth in the 100 freestyle and 18th in the 200 freestyle at the 2011 US Junior National Championships.
Personal: Born November 9, 1993 to Steve and Sue Votava • majoring in chemical engineering • was teammates at the club level with current Golden Gopher Haley Spencer.
