Minnesota men’s and women’s swimming and diving team used solid showings in their home pool to pick up a pair of Big Ten conference wins

2016-17 Freshman Season: Earned first place in the 50-yard back with a 24.52 at the 2017 Big Ten Championships • All-Big Ten team • Big Ten Freshman of the Year • All-American honorable mention • named Most Improved by teammates • part of the Big Ten Champion 200-medley relay (1:35.55) • earned second place in the 100-yard back with a 51.96 at the 2017 Big Ten Championships • finished sixth in the 200-yard back with a 1:54.40 at the 2017 Big Ten Championships • finished seventh in the 100-yard fly with a 52.70 at the 2017 Big Ten Championships • posted two second-place finishes in her college debut against Wisconsin: 50-yard back (25.57) and 100-yard back (54.18) • earned second place with a 1:51.95 in the 200-yard free against North Dakota • improved to 1:59.27 in the 200-yard back at the Minnesota Invitational • improved to 54.70 in the 100-yard fly at the Minnesota Invitational • earned two first-place finishes at the AT&T Winter Championships: 50-yard back (24.71) and 100-yard back (52.40) • earned second place in the 200-yard free with a 1:50.40 at the Minnesota Challenge • earned 11th place in the 50-yard back with a 24.59 at the 2017 NCAA Championships • earned 12th place in the 100-yard back with a 52.13 at the 2017 NCAA Championships.
High School/Club: Graduate of Mitchell High School • set eight state records in events including the 100 fly (53.07), 100 back (54.07), 100 free (50.69), 200 back (1:56.55), 200 free (1:49.37), 500 free (4:52.57), 1000 free (9:59.90) and 1,650 free (17:20.92) • named the 2015 South Dakota Female Athlete of the Year • earned title of KORN Elite Eight Athletes of the Year Captain (2015-16) • named the KMIT Student Athlete of the Year (2015-16) • earned National Guard Warrior Student-Athlete award (2015-16) • swam at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials • finished in sixth place in the 200 back, fourth place in the 100 fly, and sixth place in the 100 back during the 2015 Winter Junior Nationals • finished in ninth place in the 200 back, 18th place in the 100 back, and 20th place in the 100 fly at the 2015 Minneapolis Arena Pro Swim Series • swam for coach Kyle Margheim at the Mitchell Aquatic Club.
