Minnesota men’s and women’s swimming and diving team used solid showings in their home pool to pick up a pair of Big Ten conference wins
2017-18 Junior Season: In the 100-yard breast, took fourth place (59.53) and fifth in the 200-yard breast (2:10.49) at the Big Ten Championships. • placed third in the 100-yard breast (1:03.54), sixth in the 200 IM (2:07.05), and third in the 200-yard breast (2:16.76) at the Triple Dual against Northwestern and Purdue • finished second in the 100-yard breast (1:03.82) and second in the 200-yard breast (2:18.24) vs. Denver • took fourth in the 100-yard breast (1:04.38) and fourth in the 200-yard breast (2:18.56) against Hawai'i and Drury • placed third in the 200-yard IM (2:01.72), second in the 100-yard breast (1:00.09), and third in the 200-yard breast (2:12.73) at the Minnesota Invitational • finished seventh in the 200-yard breast (2:20.25) and fourth in the 100-yard breast (1:03.59) at the Quad Dual vs. Michigan, Penn State, and Wisconsin • took second place in the 100-yard breast (1:03.77) and second in the 200-yard breast (2:18.97) against the University of Iowa • placed fourth in both the 100-yard breast (1:04.80) and the 200-yard breast (2:20.78) vs. Florida State.
2016-17 Sophomore Season: Academic All-Big Ten • outstanding student-athlete award • finished seventh place in the 100-yard breast with a 1:00.58 at the 2017 Big Ten Championships • earned first place with a 1:02.97 in the 100-yard breast at the Minnesota Challenge • tallied a ninth place finish in the 200-yard breast with a 2:11.46 at the 2017 Big Ten Championships • improved to 2:03.40 in the 200-yard IM at the 2017 Big Ten Championships.
2015-16 Freshman Season: Named Most Improved • first-year letterwinner • two-time Big Ten Freshman of the Week • finished 37th in the 100 breast, 39th in the 200 breast, 20th in the 200 medley relay and 23rd in the 400 medley relay at the 2016 NCAA Championships • at the 2016 Big Ten Championships, Munson placed 2nd in the 200 medley relay, 5th in the 400 medley relay, 8th in the 100 breast, 9th in the 200 breast and 30th in the 200 IM • tallied nine first-place marks and 15 top-five finishes during the regular season • advanced to finals in the 100 breast and 200 breast at the 2015 Arena Pro Swim Series at Minneapolis • swept the women’s breaststroke events in three dual meets, including her collegiate debut at Florida State.
