Gophers Women’s Swimming & Diving Season Preview

Looking to pick up right where they left off, the Gophers will strive to continue their success in the water throughout the 2017-18 campaign.

High School: 2017 graduate of Thunder Ridge High School high school coaches included Beth Radefeld, Samantha Williams, heather Carnes and Jenny Odiorne • letterwinner in swimming • 2014 Continental League First-team All-Conference • 2015 NISCA and Speedo All-American in 100 back and 200 medley relay • 2017 Continental League Swimmer of the Year • 2017 DCSD Women and Girls in Sports Day honoree  •  CHSAA Academic First-Team All-State • 2016 and 2017 USA Swimming Scholastic All-American • graduated as valedictorian of her class • 2016 and 2017 AP Scholar with Distinction • state finishes senior year: third place in 500 free and fifth place in 100 back • state finishes junior year: sixth place in 100 fly and fifth place in 100 back • state finishes sophomore year: third place in 200 medley relay, fifth place in 200 free, second place in 100 back and fifth in 100 fly • holds records at Thunder Ridge High School in 200 medley relay, 200 free, 100 back and 500 free • member of Highlands Ranch Aquatics • 2017  Speedo Futures champion in 200 LCM back • 2017 Speedo Four Corners Sectionals Women's team champion. 

Personal: Born October 15, 1998 • daughter of Heidi and Phillip Van Law • has three siblings: Heather, Shannon and Trevor • uncle Robert Nasser was an All-American swimmer at University of Denver • enjoys being active, hiking, skiing and writing cards/calligraphy • ran cross country and track in middle school, as well as played soccer for six years • plans to to major in neuroscience with a minor in mathematics.
