2011-12 Senior Season:Had a strong performance at the Minnesota Challenge earned first place honors in the 100 back (56.42), the 100 fly with a new top time of 55.92, and the 400 medley relay established a new top time in the 100 free (51.63) to earn the runner-upspot as well as placing second in the 50 free (23.88)member of the second place 200 free relay and 200 medley relay member of the winning 400 free relay at the Grand Prix won the 100 fly and placed second in the 100 back vs Iowa State AcademicAll-Big Ten.
2010-11 Junior Season: Led off three relay teams that took first at the Minnesota Challenge took first in the 200 free with a time of 1:35.24 part of 200 and 400 medley relay teams that took first with times of 1:43.97 and 3:54.20 respectively runner-up in the 50 free at the Minnesota Challenge with a time of 23.92 finished fifth with a time of 58.08 in the 100 back at Wisconsin dual (10/9) finished fifth in the 100 back at Michigan State dual with a time of 59.52 (10/9).
2009-10 Sophomore Season:Had the team's third best 100 back time on the season Academic All-Big Ten selection earned her first letter won four individual events and was part of four winning relays at the Minnesota Challenge (2/5) swam her best 100 free time of 51.68 at the Minnesota Challenge raced in three events at the Big Ten Championships (2/17) had her career-best time of 23.63 in the 50 free at the Big Ten Championship also competed in the 100 back, finishing 24th with her best time of 56.29.
2008-09 Freshman Season:Competed in four meets as a freshman started her Gopher career at the Iowa dual, where she placed fifth in the 50 free and competed in the 100 free and the 200 free relay swam in six events in the Minnesota Toyota Grand Prix member of the 200 free relay and the 200 medley relay in the dual against Hiram College during the Hawaii winter training trip closed out the season at the Minnesota Challenge where she raced in eight events set career-best times in the 50 and 100 free at the Minnesota Challenge.
High School:A 2008 graduate of Maple Grove high school earned five letters in swimming at MGHS under coaches Matt Schoen and Julie Kent NISCA All-American for three straight years earned all-conference honors from 2003-2007 all-state selection in 2005-07 holds the school record in the 50 and 100 free and was members of the record-holding 200 and 400 free relays team mvp in two seasons member of the Minnesota Class AA state championship team competed with the Maple Grove/Champlin Swim Club for 10 years competed in the Speedo Series for seven years and at the Junior Nationals two years also lettered in track & field and academics graduated with high honors and was a member of the Naitonal Honor Society.
Personal: Born January 15, 1990 daughter of Rick and June Nelson plans to major in marketing and human resources and industrial relations lists winning the Minnesota state championship as her biggest sports thrill.

Minnesota placed fourth at the conference meet and claimed the Big Ten Diver of the Championships and Freshman of the Year awards.
