Minnesota men’s and women’s swimming and diving team used solid showings in their home pool to pick up a pair of Big Ten conference wins
The season opener came down to one-one hundredth of a second for the No. 17 Minnesota women's swimming and diving team who edged their way past No. 23 Florida State, 153.5-146.5. The No. 21 Golden Gopher men's swim and diving team fell short of an upset over No. 20. Florida State falling 179-121.
The Golden Gophers had three qualify in diving events during the last day of the Zone D diving meet at Missouri.
2016-17 Sophomore Season: Academic All-Big Ten team • named Hardest Worker by teammates • outstanding student-athlete award • improved to 307.90 in 1-meter diving, earning eighth place, at the 2017 Big Ten Championships • earned fourth place in 1-meter diving with a 269.55 vs. Iowa • finished in third place (318.00) in 3-meter diving against North Dakota • recorded a score of 324.85 in 3-meter diving, earning 5th place at the Hawaii Invite, also including a 10th place finish in 1-meter • finished sixth place in 1-meter diving (279.05) against Purdue and Northwestern • competed in platform (245.70) and 3-meter (329.70) diving at the Minnesota Challenge, improving scores in both • earned 22nd place in platform (213.15) diving at the 2017 Big Ten Championships • finished in 12th place in 3-meter diving (317.00) at the 2017 Big Ten Championships.
