Athletics and academics were celebrated in Gopher Athletics
For the second year in a row, gymnast Nathan Fortunato posted an unblemished 4.0 GPA.
Student-athletes must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA and be in their second academic year at an institution to earn the honor.
Women's Swimming Championships
2012-13 Junior Season: Big Ten Diver of the Year two-time All-American at 2013 NCAA Championships, placing second in 1 meter (338.20) and sixth in 3 meter (331.40) Big Ten Diver of the Championships First Team All-Big Ten claimed titles in both 1 meter and 3 meter and placed sixth in platform at the 2013 Big Ten Championships (2/20) notch a total of 53 points for the Gophers at the event five-time Big Ten Diver of the Week (10/16, 10/30, 12/4, 1/29, 2/12) totaled eight titles in both 1 meter and 3 meter during the course of the season finished second in platform diving at the Minnesota Challenge (2/8) Academic All-Big Ten letterwinner.
2011-12 Sophomore Season: Placed in three events at the NCAA Championships placed fifth in 1-meter (332.40) finished 12th in 3-meter (321.40) and 15th in platform (245.75) earned top finishes at the Big Ten Championships finished runner-up withon the 1-meter board (334.40) and 3-meter board (370.25) placed fourth in platform with a score of 288.15 named the Co-Big Ten Diver of the Championships earned a top timewinning 1-meter diving at the Minnesota Challenge (346.35) as well as taking firston the 3-meter board (340.80) claimed first place in 1-meter diving eight different times all season and won 3-meter five different times CSCAA Scholar All-American Academic All-Big Ten letterwinner.
2010-11 Freshman Season: Qualified for NCAA Championships in her first year in three events placed eleventh in the 1-meter (299.00) to earn honorable mention All-America honors placed fifth at Big Ten Championships in 1-meter and also scored in both 3-meter and platform won the 1-meter diving event in each of the Gophers' first three meets set 1-meter diving meet record at Michigan dual (10/8) was named the Big Ten Diver of the Week after winning the 1-meter diving event and helping the Minnesota to a dual-meet victory over Iowa State tallying 283.80 points second Gopher this season to earn a Conference weekly award joining Jillian Tyler earned first varsity letter.

Personal: Born December 19th 1991 to Charlie and Lisa Keefer has an older brother and sister, David and Emily participated in gymnastics for four years sister, Emily, dove at the University of Wyoming majoring in kinesiology.
