Minnesota claimed three titles Friday night at the University Aquatic Center.
2012-13 Sophomore Season: Finished fourth in the 100 fly and seventh in the 200 fly at Kansas (10/20)swam in the fifth place 200 medley relay against Iowa State (10/12).
2011-12 Freshman Season: Had a strong performance at the Minnesota Challenge member of the first place 400 medley relay and third place 200 medley relay placed third in the 200 fly (2:07.58) and sixth in the 100 fly (57.48) also finished 72nd in the 50 free (26.67) at the Challenge earned 7th place in the 100 back (1:00.69) at the Hawaii Dual placed fourth in the 200 fly and a member of the fifth place 200 medley relay vs Iowa State.
High School: A 2011 graduate of Lawrence Free State High School coached by Annette McDonald competed with the Lawrence Aquahawks three-time state champion in the 200 medley relay, and two-time 400 free relay champion her relay team set state records in both those relays her sophomore year her team won the state title sophomore year part of two team conference championships NISCA All-American (2008-10) set four school records member of the Puerto Rican national team National Honor Society member top 10-percent graduate.
Personal: Born November 20, 1992 undecided on a major daughter of Tony and Dorie Portela has two siblings: Anthony and Jordan Anthony swam for the Gophers (2006-09) both parents swam in college being part of Team Puerto Rico is her greatest sports thrill enjoys photography and volunteers at the hospital.
