After the Golden Gopher Softball team recorded its best season in program history, a year that saw the team capture its second Big Ten Tournament title and reach the NCAA super regional round for the first time, GopherSports.com is counting down the top plays from the 2014 season.

Play No. 3 in our countdown is the play that sealed Minnesota's first Big Ten Tournament championship since 1999. With two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning against top-seeded Michigan in the championship game, freshman Sam Macken gave the Gophers a 3-2 by knocking a 1-2 pitch from the Wolverines' Haylie Wagner past second baseman Abby Ramirez.
