After the Golden Gopher Softball team recorded its best season in program history, a year that saw the team capture its second Big Ten Tournament title and reach the NCAA super regional round for the first time, GopherSports.com is counting down the top plays from the 2014 season.
No. 5 in our countdown comes from the Big Ten Tournament Championship game. After top-seeded Michigan staked itself to a 2-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning, Kaitlyn Richardson and Sara Groenewegen erased the Gophers' deficit by hitting solo home runs, allowing Minnesota to eventually walk off with a 3-2 win and its second Big Ten Tournament title. The home run was the 10th of the season for each player.
