Minnesota softball saw 11 of its current and former student-athletes receive 2016-17 NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes, as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Tuesday.
2017 • FRESHMAN SEASON
Appeared in 35 games and made three starts • hit .304 with two doubles, a triple and a home run • saw action in first collegiate game against Maryland where she served as a pinch hitter • saw action as a designated player versus Texas • hit her first career home run against Notre Dame with a game tying blast • tallied one hit as a pinch hitter against North Carolina State • appeared as a pinch runner and hitter in two games against UC Davis • added one run as a pinch runner in win over Fresno State • recorded one hit and one run as a pinch hitter in victory over Idaho State • in two games against Seattle, appeared as a pinch hitter and tallied two hits and one run • notched two runs and two hits as a pinch hitter against Nebraska • scored one run against Illinois • hit an RBI-double and scored one run against South Dakota • tallied one run as a pinch runner against Indiana • made a pinch hitter appearance against Wisconsin where she knocked down an RBI-triple • picked up her third start as the designated player against Penn State and scored two runs.
A 2016 graduate of Green Bay Preble • earned four varsity letters in softball • led the FRCC Conference with a .561 batting average • a four time All-Conference team member • two-time All-Area and All-American • named to All-State first team in 2016 • named Academic All-State • graduated with high honors • also played for the Fox River Rush, Jr. Phoenix, and Wisconsin Bandits.

The NFCA released its list of top academic teams for the 2017 season including the Gophers with a cumulative GPA of 3.460.
