Minnesota softball saw 11 of its current and former student-athletes receive 2016-17 NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes, as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Tuesday.
2017 • FRESHMAN SEASON
Appeared in 17 games with one start • saw action in first collegiate game as a pinch runner and recorded one run against Texas • scored two runs as a pinch runner in a pair of games against North Carolina State • was a pinch runner against Idaho State • made an appearance at shortstop against Pacific and tallied one putout • notched her first collegiate hit against Nebraska • added one run in a win over South Dakota • scored one run against Wisconsin • picked up her first collegiate start against Penn State at shortstop.
A 2016 graduate of Rogers High School • five-time letterwinner in softball, two in cross country and three in nordic skiing • holds high school records for batting average, runs, hits, doubles, triples, RBI, stolen bases, ERA, wins, shutouts and strikeouts • earned All-Conference honors five times in softball • named a 2016 Second Team MaxPrep Sports All-American • was the Mississippi 8 Conference Pitcher of the Year in 2013 and 2014 and MVP in 2015 and 2016 • was a 2016 Athena Award winner, Star Tribune Metro Player of the Year and was named Ms. Minnesota Softball • won two national championships with Minnesota As club team in 2016.
