GET TO KNOW KARI DORLE:
Why the University of Minnesota?
With growing up in St. Paul, I have always been a Golden Gopher fan. Once I got the chance to stay close to home and play for the college I grew up watching, I took advantage of that opportunity.
What is it like playing for Minnesota?
I love being a native of the area and being able to wear the Gopher softball jersey. It's fun and enjoyable stepping onto the field with fans from coming from all around to watch you play.
Professor Wambach because she always asks Sara Moulton and me about how the season is going. She even came to one of our games when it was freezing cold out!
Favorite aspect of softball?
Picking runners off the bases
Last year, Malisa Barnes and I had a ritual called "The Surge". Before every game we would do pushups for our jersey number, so for me it was 17 and Barnes had 9. Now that she has graduated, I will have to recruit a freshman to take her spot.
First softball memory?
Going to my very first fastpitch softball practice. I was so nervous that when I was playing catch with my dad, and I got hit right in the face with a ball.
