After a dominate weekend on the field by Minnesota softball, sophomores Amber Fiser and MaKenna Partain earned Big Ten Weekly honors as announced by the conference office on Monday. The Gophers went a perfect 5-0 this past week earning sweeps against Wisconsin and Purdue while only allowing one run.
Exactly four weeks ago sophomore right-hander Amber Fiser tossed her first collegiate no-hitter, 28 days later she threw her first collegiate perfect game needing just 45 pitches to do so.
In the fastest game of the season, one hour and 25 minutes to be exact, the Gophers’ offense behind the strong arm of sophomore Amber Fiser eased their way past Iowa in the series opener. A three-run second and sixth inning aided Minnesota (22-14, 5-3 Big Ten) to an 8-0 victory Thursday night over Iowa (19-19, 5-6 Big Ten).
LAS VEGAS -- Minnesota softball made it look as if they were in mid-season form at the plate Saturday afternoon.
