On and off the field this season, the University of Minnesota women’s soccer team made history. On the pitch, the Gophers set a new program record with 22 wins and made a Sweet Sixteen appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Off the field, the Gophers were hitting the books. Ten Golden Gophers were honored with Academic All-Big Ten accolades Wednesday. The 10 honorees for the Gophers this season matches a program record set in 1999 and matched in 2003.
Sara Clancy (Cedar Rapids, Iowa), Jennie Clark (Norwalk, Iowa), Lindsey Dare (Apple Valley, Minn.), Clare Grimwood (Eagan, Minn.), Kelsey Hood (Ankeny, Iowa), Krystle Kallman (Woodbury, Minn.), Kylie Kallman (Woodbury, Minn.), Angie Olson (Eagan, Minn.), Julie Rezac (Eden Prairie, Minn.) and Molly Rouse (Cambridge, Minn.) were each named to the Big Ten Conference’s Academic All-Big Ten list.
In addition to the honor she received Wednesday, sophomore Kylie Kallman was also named to the CoSida ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District team last month. Kallman, who is pursuing a business major at the prestigious Carlson School of Management, owns a 3.96 grade point average.
