All-session passes for the 2007 Big Ten Soccer Tournament, to be hosted Nov. 8-11 at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium in St. Paul, are now available online at gophersports.com or by calling 1-800-UGOPHER. Advance passes will be $15 for the public and $10 for youth, seniors and students. They will count as valid for admission into all seven scheduled tournament contests.
Elizabeth Lyle Stadium has been the home of Gopher soccer since 1999 and will be hosting the tournament for the first time in its history. Minnesota will be hosting the Big Ten Tournament for the first time since 1997, which also marks the last time the Golden Gophers were crowed conference champions. ELR Stadium is located on the University of Minnesota’s St. Paul campus at the corner of Cleveland and Larpenteur Avenues. For more detailed directions, please visit gophersports.com.
Off to a stellar 6-4-1 start through Oct. 12 (including 2-1 in Big Ten play), the Gophers appear poised to gain their first conference tournament victory since 1999. The last time Minnesota appeared in postseason play was 2005, when they lost to Illinois in the tournament opener 1-0. As the host team, the Gophers will be granted an automatic entry into the tournament.
