Friday night we faced the University of Illinois. It was our first conference game on the road and our only one for the weekend. It ended with Illinois on top by a score of 1-0.
With only one game to worry about, our team left it all on the field. Our back line played phenomenally - they put great pressure on for most of the game. Illinois' forwards are very talented and very athletic, and they were running at us all night. However, our back three held their ground very well. Offensively we struggled a bit, but I have faith we’ll bounce back this weekend for sure.
Last weekend was our third conference game. We now have three weekends left and every game is critical. With hopes in earning a bid to the NCAA Tournament, we need to be prepared every game. Executing our game plan is going to be crucial in our success.
Looking forward, this coming weekend we will take on Indiana Friday night and Purdue on Sunday. With a loss this past weekend we’re all eager to bounce right back.
