2009 Home Opener Soccer season is here!! The Golden Gophers host the South Dakota State Jackrabbits at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium on Friday Aug. 21 at 6:00 pm.
Last Time Out 2008 ended for the Golden Gophers in the third round of the NCAA Tournament with a 1-0 OT loss to top-seeded Notre Dame. One week earlier the Jackrabbits season ended, in the NCAA Tournament second round with a 2-0 loss to Minnesota.
Last Match-Up Minnesota and South Dakota State met twice last season with the Golden Gophers winning both. The first was in Brookings, S.D. where Minnesota won 2-0, and the second time came in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Series Since South Dakota State made the jump to Division I, they have met up with Minnesota five times, including twice last season. The Golden Gophers lead the all-time series 4-0-1, and have won three straight.

Next Up After the season opener, the Golden Gophers will travel to Georgia for a pair of games on Aug. 28 and 30. First, Minnesota takes on the University of Georgia, before closing the trip against Kennesaw State.

Aug. 21 will be Campers Day, meaning all who attended the Minnesota Soccer Camps this summer get in free and their parents get in for $1.
