Park Ridge, Ill. - The Big Ten Conference has announced their 2009 Big Ten Network soccer schedule, and the University of Minnesota will be on display twice.
The first action on Big Ten Network for the Golden Gophers will be on Sunday, September 27 when they travel to Champaign, Ill. to take on the Illinois Fighting Illini. The match will be part of a BTN soccer doubleheader on the 27th, and will air live at 2:00 pm (ET). In their only meeting last season, the Golden Gophers beat the 16th ranked Fighting Illini 1-0 in front of over 1,000 fans at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium.
Proceeding Minnesota and Illinois is the first match-up of the doubleheader, with Penn State traveling to Michigan State, which airs at 12:00 am (ET).
The second match for the Golden Gophers on BTN comes on Sunday, October 25 as part of another doubleheader. This time Minnesota plays the first match, and will air live when they travel to Michigan State at 12:00 am (ET). The Spartans handed the Golden Gophers their first loss last season, and one of only two in Big Ten play.
Following Minnesota and Michigan State will be Illinois at Penn State, airing at 2:00 pm (ET).
Illinois and Michigan State lead the league with three appearances on BTN each, while Minnesota is joined by Penn State and Indiana as the only schools to be on BTN twice.
