Head coach Mikki Denney Wright has snagged five Minnesota preps stars in Ellie Arvesen, Mehan Bolton, Elle Dykema, Kristen Knutson and Allie Reinke while also pulling in Iowa native in Haley Helverson.

"We would like to welcome the 2012 recruiting class and their families to the Gopher Soccer Family," said head coach Mikki Denney Wright. "This is a very athletic and versatile class with tremendous overall potential.  Through discipline, commitment, hard work and deliberate practice these young women can develop into impact players for our team. I know our team and our coaches are expecting this group to embrace the Gopher Soccer culture immediately and become a valuable part of our program. These young women have an incredible opportunity to be surrounded by a group of truly extraordinary teammates. I encourage them to make the most of it."

A forward from West Des Moines Valley High School, Iowa, Helverson assisted the Tigers in reaching the Iowa State Tournament twice while claiming the Class 3-A State Championship in 2010. The West Des Moines, Iowa native was chosen as a 2010 All-Tournament Team selection and a 2010 CIML First Team All-Conference honoree. Helverson led the Tigers in scoring for both the 2009 and 2010 seasons. She played her club soccer with the JUSC/WDMSC Force and participated in the Iowa Olympic Development Program.

Arvesen is a midfielder from Mahtomedi High School, who assisted the Zephyrs snag three Classic Suburban Conference titles, one Minnesota Class-A State Championship (2008) and a runner-up finish at State in 2010. The Pine Springs, Minn. native was tagged honorable mention All-Conference in 2010 while also earning four letters in soccer during her four seasons at Mahtomedi. Arvesen also received letters in basketball and track and field. She reached the Minnesota State Track and Field competition in the 200-meter dash and 4x400-meter relay. Arvesen played her club ball with the St. Croix SC Scorpions and helped them become a two-time Minnesota State Cup finalist along with one US Club Regional Championship.

Bolton is a three-time all-conference player and a two-time all-state honoree from Hugo, Minn. The forward from Mahtomedi High School helped the Zephyrs snag three Classic Suburban Conference titles and qualify for the state tournament twice. In those two state tournament appearances, Mahtomedi was a 2008 Class-A State Champion and a 2010 Class-A State Runner-up. Bolton played her club ball with St. Croix SC Scorpions and helped them become a two-time Minnesota State Cup finalist along with one US Club Regional Championship.

Dykema, a forward from Northfield, Minn., is a two-time all-conference selection for Northfield High School. Dykema helped guide the Raiders to two conference championships in her four-year tenure while also earning a pair of runner-up finishes at sectionals. She finished her high school career with 56 career goals and holds the Northfield record for most goals scored in a single season with 22. Her club team was the Dakota Rev SC Fury, who won the 2010 Minnesota Youth Soccer Association (MYSA) Premier League Championship.

An ESPN Regional First Team honoree, Knutson was also named to ESPN's Top 20 National Goalkeeper list. She led Eagan High School to a pair of state tournament appearances with a third-place finish in 2009. Knutson's accolades also include being a three-time all-conference keeper, 2011 First Team All-Metro, 2011 all-state honoree and 2011 NSCAA All-Region V team member. With Eagan SC, she was a Minnesota State Cup Champion (2009) and Runner-up (2006). Knutson also participated in the Minnesota Olympic Development Program.
