Fall Academic All-Big Ten teams boast several Gopher Standouts
The tale of the season was coming up short, as eight of the Gophers' 10 losses were by one goal.
Senior Shari Eckstrom was named to the Big Ten All-Tournament Team on Sunday.

2011 SENIOR SEASON:
Started all 21 games in 2011 finished second on the team in points (13) and goals (four) and led the team in assists (five) had 59 shots on the season, which places her ninth in Minnesota history for career shots (181) served as a team captain named to the All-Big Ten Tournament Team notched a career-high two assists in the 5-0 home opener win over South Dakota State (8/21) recorded first goal of the season during the Minnesota Gold Classic in the 2-1 overtime loss to Georgia (9/2) tallied a score in the 1-1 draw against Ohio State (9/18) in the Big Ten opener had the game-winning goal in the 3-1 home victory over Indiana (10/21) matched a career-high point total of four (one goal, two assists) in the 6-3 Senior Day triumph over Nebraska (10/28) notched an assist against Wisconsin (11/2) in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament.
2010 JUNIOR SEASON:
Posted a breakout season in 2010, settting new career marks in nearly every offensive category enters her junior season as the top returning point-getter from the 2010 squad finished second on the team and tied for 10th in the Big Ten with 19 points seven goals were tied for first on the Gophers squad and tied for 10th in the conference tied for third on the team and ninth in the Big Ten with five assists also set career marks with 23 starts (one of just five Gophers to start in every game in 2010), 80 shots (led the Big Ten), 30 shots on goal and two game winners shared the 2010 Midfield Most Valuable Player Award with 2010 senior Molly Rouse named to the Academic All-Big Ten team earned third letter.
2009 SOPHOMORE SEASON:

2008 FRESHMAN SEASON:
Appeared in a career high 21 matches scored three goals to finish with six points tallied her first career goal in her first career match on Aug. 22 (Northern Iowa) tallied first career game-winner on Sept. 21 as the Golden Gophers beat Boston University 1-0 scored Minnesota's lone goal in a 1-2 loss to Penn State on Nov. 9 Golden Gophers second-leading freshman scorer named a U of MMaroonScholar Athlete earned first letter.

Best soccer memory: Regionals to advance to the semifinals with about one minute left, Tami crosses a ball and I made a 60 yard run sliding to toe it in right after the whistle blew.
Biggest celebrity from your hometown/high school: Sam Maresh (Golden Gopher football player).
Why you chose your number: I've always had different numbers, and I don't think one number fits me.
Toughest player you've ever faced: Kelsey Hood (air balls)
Any superstitions: No.
After college I want to...: Continue to player soccer, coach, and travel.
I cannot live without my: Cell phone.
Favorite thing about Minneapolis-St. Paul: Close enough to go home, but far enough away to meet new people. Also playing soccer for the U of M.
Best birthday present you ever received: My license.
Ultimate soccer dream: Play in Europe and coach at the college level.
