June 12, 2013

Future University of Minnesota women’s rower McKenzie Lukacs, who signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) in May, was recently selected to represent Rowing Canada Aviron at the 2013 World Rowing Junior Championships. Lukacs will compete in the Junior Women’s 2x event along with her teammate Sofia Donneke.

We are really excited for Mckenzie,” Golden Gopher head coach Wendy Davis said. “She will gain valuable racing experience going against the best of the best in high school rowing.”

The World Rowing Junior Championships will take place August 7-11 in Trakai, Lithuania. The Canadian Team will depart Canada on July 29 for a pre-event training camp that will also take place in Trakai.
