Junior Ali Haws was named Minnesota rowing's Most Valuable Athlete at the Golden Gophers' annual team banquet, which was held to celebrate another successful spring season. The Maroon and Gold placed fifth at this season's Big Ten Championships and were ranked as high as No. 18 nationally twice during the year.
After competing in the Gophers' second varsity eight boat last season, Haws made her way into the first varsity eight for every race this season and was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team at the Big Ten Championships.
Gophers Place Seventh at Big Tens
Anna Greene and Rylie Wargo earned All-Big Ten recognition while the Gophers earned a pair of top-five finishes.
Rowing Heads to Big Ten Championships
Competition will take place in Indianapolis on Sunday morning at the Big Ten Championships.
