The No. 17 University of Minnesota rowing team will compete in one final regular season tune up before the Big Ten Championships this weekend. The Golden Gophers will host Boston University and Kansas in non-conference competition on St. Paul's Lake Phalen this Saturday. Weather permitting, the races will begin at 10 a.m.
The order of events are the following:
10:00 a.m. - Second Varsity Eight
10:15 a.m. - Second Novice Eight
10:30 a.m. - First Novice Eight
10:45 a.m. - Varsity Four
11:00 a.m. - First Varsity Eight
DIRECTIONS TO LAKE PHALEN (from the University of Minnesota campus)
From the West: Take Interstate 94 East to Interstate 35E North (near downtown St. Paul). Exit at the Larpenteur/Wheelock (Exit 110A). Turn right onto Wheelock Parkway. Follow the parkway for about two miles. As you enter Phalen Regional Park, turn left onto Phalen Drive. The Beach House Lot will be on your right.
The Gophers will compete in all events of the day. Minnesota will then host the Big Ten Championships next weekend, April 29th, also at Lake Phalen. The morning heats begin at 8 a.m., while the finals will at noon.
