BACK ON THE WATER
Idle for two straight weeks, the University of Minnesota rowing team is back on the water this weekend. The Golden Gophers travel to East Lansing, Mich., to compete at the Big Ten Double Duals, Saturday. The races will be broken up in a morning and afternoon session, starting at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Lake Ovid.

FULL CREW
Minnesota will travel four varsity and two novice boats to the Double Duals this weekend. Scheduled to compete in the First Varsity Eight is coxswain Linnea Trandem , Cassie Drozynski at stroke, Molly Kalmoe , Tracy Merth , Erika Berg , Kayla Thom , Sarah Krueger , Rachel Sartor and captain Teresa Logemann at bow.  Scheduled to race in the Second Varsity Eight is coxswain Sara Baldvins , Christine Beauparlant at stroke, Ellen Hughes , Leah Rogotzke at six, Kathryn Switalski , Katrina Pichelli , Ali Haws , Kate Ladell and Maddy Bourgeois at bow. In the First Varsity Four is Nicolle Fisher (coxswain), Alexandria Voss , Sarah Sobek, Debbie Brzozowski and Katie Anderson . Rounding out the varsity competition in the Second Varsity Four of Emilie Sabourin , Caitlin Boon , Jenessa White , Mikaela Rogers and Allison Putlak at bow.

Racing with the First Novice Eight is coxswain Olivia Vlahos, Katherine Windsor at stroke, Molly Gruber, Melissa Drezdzon, Chelsea Miller, Amber Meyer, Katherine Moran, Erica Revering and Nicolette Marquardt at bow. Making the 2N8 is coxswain Mahogany Ellis, Jen Kohl at stroke, McKenzie Fitzgerald, Kelly Brickl in the six seat, Kathryn DeSmidt, Deena Altschwager, Cassandra Meyer, Katherine Rosploch and Rebecca Curtis.

SOBEK NAMED TO NATIONAL FRESHMAN CAMP ROSTER
Rookie rower Sarah Sobek was one of 22 freshmen invited to the 2011 Women’s National Team Freshman Camp this summer, announced by USRowing.  The camp will be held June 19-25 at Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y., and will be run by two-time Olympian Hilary Gehman, women's head coach at Cornell. Sobek is one of four rowers from a Big Ten institution (Michigan’s Carolina Lofgren and Wisconsin’s Maggie Fitzgerald and Leah Gustafson).
