The University of Minnesota women's rowing team wrapped up competition at the UVa Invitational hosted by Virginia Sunday afternoon on Lake Monticello in Charlottesville, Va., with the Gophers' second varsity eight placing second as the Maroon and Gold's top finisher.
The 2V8 of coxswain Sara Baldvins, Caitlin Boon, Tabitha Andelin, Kathryn Switalski, Lynn Hodnet, Katherine Windsor, Sarah Sobek, Maddy Bourgeois and Katie Anderson posted a time of 6:50.3 to finish ahead of Cornell and nab a second-place finish behind Virginia.
Minnesota's No. 19-ranked 1V8 of coxswain Emilie Sabourin, Christine Beauparlant, Rachel Sartor, Ali Haws, Rebecca Braak, Molly Kalmoe, Kayla Thom, Becky Kinchen and Ellen Hughes clocked a time of 6:48.7 to place third behind the top-ranked Cavaliers and the No. 14-ranked Big Red, while the 1V4 of coxswain Jacqueline Stein, Chelsea Miller, Jaime Friscia, Nicolette Marquart and Melissa Drezdzon also posted a third-place finish with a time of 7:42.9.

The Gophers will have a weekend off, before hosting a Double Dual vs. SMU and Wisconsin on Sunday, April 29.
