Minnesota's First Novice Eight Finishes Fourth in Grand Final
The Gophers placed fourth in the Grand Finale of the Women's Collegiate Novice event Sunday.

The University of Minnesota First Novice Eight finished fourth in the Grand Final of the Women's Collegiate Novice event Sunday afternoon with a time of 7:38.76 at the 39th renewal of the San Diego Crew Classic on Mission Bay in San Diego, Calif.

The crew of coxswain Danica Rog, Haylee Davis, Samantha Otterson, Anna Swanson, Kathleen Charley, Mary Prior, Kalee Kemmesat, Silvia Coleman and Shannon Boardway defeated Washington State and Oklahoma, and finished behind first-place California (7:24.33), UCLA (7:32.39) and Washington (7:37.28).

The Gophers are back in action April 7 as they take part in the Big Ten Double Dual vs. Indiana and Ohio State in Bloomington, Ind.
