July 14, 2017

MINNEAPOLIS -- In anticipation of the upcoming season, will take a closer look at each of the 2017-18 opponents that the Gopher women's hockey team plays. Up this week is Bemidji State.

About the Series: Minnesota vs. Bemidji State
The Gophers head into this season holding an all-time record of 69-8-7 against Bemidji State. The teams met seven times during the 2016-17 season with the Gophers winning five of the games. Kelly Pannek (5g-5a), Dani Cameranesi (4g-2a), and Sarah Potomak (1g-5a) led Minnesota against BSU last season.

Most recently, the Gophers beat the Beavers, two games to one in the best-of-three WCHA First Round series to advance to the WCHA Final Face-Off. The Beavers saw their season come to an end with the loss. Last season also saw the Gophers and Beavers split an October series on the road in Bemidji, Minn., before Minnesota swept BSU at home at Ridder Arena in November 2016.

Jim Scanlan will enter his third season as head coach of the team in 2017-18.
