Despite falling short of an NCAA three-peat, the Gophers enjoyed a highly successful and exciting 2013-14 campaign, which included the program's sixth WCHA Final Face-off title and eighth WCHA regular season title, the program's first-ever outdoor game in the Hockey City Classic at TCF Bank Stadium and the program's 10th NCAA Frozen Four appearance. #5: Gophers Cap Win Streak at 62 Games
Minnesota earned its 62nd-straight win by skating to a 6-1 win over North Dakota on Nov. 16, 2013, but the Gophers’ historic winning streak came to an end with a 3-2 loss to UND on Nov. 17, 2013.
The Gophers recorded 62 consecutive wins from Feb. 28, 2012 to Nov. 16, 2013. Minnesota nearly tripled the previous NCAA Division I women’s hockey winning streak (21, Harvard). The Gophers also surpassed the NCAA Division I men’s hockey record winning streak (30, RPI and Cornell) and unbeaten streak (38, RPI).
