The University of Minnesota women's hockey team was honored Tuesday night at the Minnesota Twins game by throwing out the first pitch and singing `Take Me Out to the Ballgame' during the Seventh-Inning Stretch.
The Golden Gophers made an appearance at Target Field for the second consecutive year and were asked to throw out the first pitch. Co-captains Megan Bozek and Bethany Brausen were given the opportunity to toe the rubber as the rest of the players and staff surrounded the mound. Brausen hurled a heater on the inside of the plate, while Bozek's toss was a little low and inside.
In between the second and third inning, Katie Frischmann and Rachael Bona were placed on top of each dugout and participated in a dance contest, which also included twin boys who were dancing on the concourse. The two Gophers lost to the limber and stylish twins.
Throughout the game, players and Natty II (the national championship trophy) were asked to pose for photos.
To complete the night, a handful of Gophers were given the opportunity to sing `Take Me Out to the Ballgame' during the Seventh-Inning Stretch. The players made a small rendition to the famous song with inputting Gophers at one point. (Let me root, root, root, for the Gophers)
