MINNEAPOLIS – The Western Collegiate Hockey Association regular-season champion Golden Gophers women's hockey team is set to host eighth-seeded St. Cloud State in the first round of the WCHA playoffs at Ridder Arena this weekend. Tickets are on sale now.
The best-of-three series begins at 7:07 p.m. CT Friday with game two at 4:07 p.m. CT Saturday. If necessary, game three will be held at 4:07 p.m. CT Sunday. The winners of the first round series advance to the 2014 WCHA FINAL FACE-OFF March 7-8 in Bemidji, Minn.
The winner of the WCHA FINAL FACE-OFF receives an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.
The other three first round series have seventh-seeded Minnesota State traveling to No. 2 seed Wisconsin, sixth-seeded Bemidji State at third-seeded North Dakota and fifth-seeded Ohio State at fourth-seeded Minnesota Duluth.
Tickets for the 2014 WCHA FINAL FACE-OFF, which will be held at Sanford Center in Bemidji, Minn., March 7-8, are on sale now. Two semifinal games on Friday are at 4:07 pm and 7:07 pm CT with the WCHA FINAL FACE-OFF championship game at 7:07 pm CT on Saturday.

Minnesota has won the last two WCHA FINAL FACE-OFF titles, defeating Minnesota Duluth 2-0 in the 2012 title game and topping North Dakota 2-0 to claim the 2013 crown.
