Get to know junior defenseman Jordyn Burns
Six different Gophers netted a goal in the team's 6-2 win over Minnesota Duluth.
Burns transferred to Minnesota this season after spending her freshman year at Syracuse.
2013-14 Junior Season: Recorded five points on two goals and three assists played in all 41 games, seeing action at both defense and forward assisted Meghan Lorence's third-period goal in 4-0 win at Bemidji State (Oct. 25) recorded one point in back-to-back games with an assist in the 2-2 tie with OSU (Jan. 11) and a goal against Minnesota State on the outdoor ice at TCF Bank Stadium in the Hockey City Classic (Jan. 17) scored her second goal of the season in 6-0 win over UMD (Feb. 22) assisted a Kate Flug goal in the 7-1 win over St. Cloud State (March 1) in the WCHA First Round.
2012-13 Sophomore Season: Transferred to Minnesota after playing her freshman season at Syracuse appeared in 21 games had four points (2g-2a) posted a plus/minus ratio of +4 notched first goal with the Gophers against Colgate (Sept. 29) assisted Amanda Kessel on the first of her three goals against Ohio State (Oct. 20) netted a goal in the 6-2 win over Minnesota Duluth (Feb. 2) assisted on a Katie Frischmann goal in the Gophers' 8-0 rout of Bemidji State (Feb. 15).
2011-12 Freshman Season (at Syracuse): Played in all 35 games collected two goals and eight assists for 10 points in her rookie campaign had one multiple-point game, registering two assists against Lindenwood (Dec. 2).
High School/Club: Played at Benilde-St. Margaret's High School helped her team to four North Suburban Conference titles as a senior, was the Red Knights' top-scoring defenseman with 15 goals and 22 assists for 37 points led her team in plus/minus rating with a +48 as a senior a three-time All-North Suburban Conference honoree named all-state.
Personal: A 2011 graduate of Benilde-St. Margaret's High School born September 29, 1992 parents are Mike and Tenley Burns has a brother and a sister shoots left psychology major taking pre-med requirements.
