Head coach Meg Stephenson's Minnesota women's gymnastics program and alumni will hold a Junior Gopher Day Camp for kids ages 6-12 at Peik Gymnasium on Saturday, January 5.
The camp will begin at 9:00 a.m., and will continue throughout the day until 8:15 p.m., following the Gophers' annual Intrasquad Meet at the Sports Pavilion. Campers will need to bring their own lunch, but pizza will be provided for dinner prior to the meet.
The cost for the camp is $125, with cash or checks payable to the University of Minnesota. Campers will also receive a Jamwear Leotard. Registrations will not be accepted after Wednesday, December 19, at 10:00 a.m., and space is limited, so register now!
The Schedule is as follows:
9:00 a.m. -- Check In at Peik Gym
9:30-10:00 a.m. -- Warm Up and Divide Into Groups
10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. -- Four 30-Minute Rotations
12:00-12:30 p.m. -- Lunch (Must Provide Your Own)
12:30-1:00 p.m. -- Q & A Session With Coaches and Alumni
1:00-2:00 p.m. -- Two 30-Minute Rotations
2:00-4:00 p.m. -- Performance Routine Rehearsal
4:00-4:30 p.m. -- Walk to Sports Pavilion with Coaches
4:40-5:10 p.m. -- Practice Dance at the Sports Pavilion
5:10-5:30 p.m. -- Learn About Official Scoring
5:30-6:00 p.m. -- Pizza Party at Sports Pavilion (Provided)
6:00-7:45 p.m. -- Assist as Official Runners/Flashers for Intrasquad Meet
7:45 p.m. -- Dance Performance
8:00-8:15 p.m. -- Autographs and Photos with 2012-13 Gopher Team
Freshman Spotlight: Ona Loper
Loper is a four-time Junior Olympic qualifier. At the 2017 Junior Olympic Championships she won the national championship on floor and finished fifth place in the all-around.

Incoming Gophers Win JO National Titles
Lexy Ramler (St. Michael, Minn.) and Ona Loper (Bluffton, S.C.) each won a national title at the 2017 Women's Junior Olympic National Championships.
