Nov. 1, 2012

The NCAA Division I Championships and Sports Management Cabinet announced today that the University of Minnesota has been selected as one of six institutions to host a regional competition for the 2014 National Collegiate Women's Gymnastics Championships.

The regional championship will be held at the Sports Pavilion on April 5 and returns to the University of Minnesota campus for the first time since it hosted the 2008 NCAA North Central Regional Championship. The Gophers also hosted the 2000 NCAA North Central Regional Championship.

Two teams from each regional will advance to the 2014 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championship Finals, which will be held at BJCC Arena in Birmingham, Ala.

Tickets for the 2014 regional championship are expected to go on sale in the fall of 2013.
