The Big Ten Network has announced its schedule for women's gymnastics coverage in the 2009 season, which includes two of Minnesota's home meets.
Nine women's gymnasts meets will be televised in 2009: eight regular-season contests as well as the Big Ten Championship on March 21. Each Big Ten team will have at least two regular-season competitions featured on the Big Ten Network, in addition to the conference championship. The Big Ten Championship, to be held at Illinois, will be broadcast live.
Minnesota's home meets on Jan. 24 against Michigan and on March 14 against Iowa will be televised on a tape-delay basis. The Jan. 24 competition will be aired on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 4 p.m. (3 p.m. central), while the March 14 meet against Iowa will be aired on Wednesday, March 18 at 8 p.m. (7 p.m. central).
The Big Ten Network has signed national agreements with AT&T U-Verse, Charter, Comcast, Cox, DIRECTV, DISH Network, Insight, Mediacom, Verizon FiOS and 230 cable operators and is available to 55 million households nationwide. Select content is distributed through alternative media platforms including Video On Demand, Internet, iPods, cell phones and other emerging technologies.
