The University of Minnesota women's gymnastics team officially kicked off their 2012-13 season last Thursday as they held their first official practice of the year.

Head coach Meg Stephenson is optimistic about this year's team, which returns eight gymnasts and adds four talented freshmen to the roster. The top two returners are juniors Dusti Russell and Kayla Slechta, who each qualified for the 2012 NCAA National Championships in the all around.
